   Proposal Description:
   With co-investigator Dr. Laurel Beckett, we will examine patterns of anti-psychotic use in African American, Asian and Latino minority groups and White non-Hispanic diagnosed with MCI/Dementia. We hypothesize that anti-psychotic is primarily associated with the presence and severity of NPS rather than dementia severity and also that anti-psychotic use differs in minority groups compared to white and that this difference is not accounted for by NPS or other demographic and clinical variables. Our overall goal is to determine risk factors for use of anti-psychotics in community-dwelling elders with mild cognitive impairment or dementia.
